Cancellation & Refund Policy
Version 1.0 — effective 18 September 2026
This policy is part of the User Terms and Organiser Terms. It governs cancellations and refunds for every booking made through FYDS. Your contract for each experience is with its organiser; this policy sets the rules that contract uses.
Nothing in this policy reduces your statutory rights. Where the law gives you more than the tier on your booking, the law applies.
1. The three tiers
Every listing shows one tier. The tier displayed when you book is binding for that booking. Refund percentages apply to everything you have paid for the booking, including any deposit.
Flexible
- Cancel 7 days or more before the start: full refund.
- Cancel less than 7 days before the start: no refund.
Moderate
- Cancel 30 days or more before the start: full refund.
- Cancel between 30 and 7 days before the start: 50% refund.
- Cancel less than 7 days before the start: no refund.
Strict
- Cancel 60 days or more before the start: full refund.
- Cancel between 60 and 30 days before the start: 50% refund.
- Cancel less than 30 days before the start: no refund.
Days are counted to the experience start time shown on the booking. Organisers may only offer terms more generous than their tier, never stricter.
2. If the organiser cancels
You get a full refund of everything you paid — always, whatever the tier and however close to the start date. If the organiser offers an alternative date and you'd rather transfer, you can accept it instead; that choice is yours, never forced.
This includes cancellation because a minimum group size wasn't reached (the deadline for this appears on the listing).
3. Your legal cancellation rights
Experiences with a fixed date or period (a retreat on set dates, a scheduled workshop): the usual 14-day "cooling-off" right for online purchases does not apply — the law makes an exception for leisure services on specific dates. Your cancellation rights are the tier on your booking, plus section 2.
Services without a fixed date (for example, a coaching programme you schedule flexibly): you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund. If you ask to start within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay for what you've already received. After 14 days, the tier applies.
If an experience isn't delivered with reasonable care and skill, you have statutory remedies against the organiser regardless of any tier.
4. How to cancel
Cancel from your bookings page, or by writing to the organiser through the Platform (keep it in writing — the timestamp determines which refund band applies). Organisers cancel through their dashboard, and must tell affected participants immediately.
5. How refunds are paid
If you paid the organiser directly (all bookings while Platform payment is unavailable, and any listing that directs you to pay the organiser): the organiser refunds you directly, to your original payment method where possible, within 14 days of the cancellation. FYDS is not part of these payments and cannot process these refunds, but organisers who fail to refund what this policy requires face action on their account — tell us at support@findyourdream.space if this happens.
If you paid through the Platform: we process the refund to your original payment method within 14 days of the cancellation, and usually much faster. In the rare case an organiser's account doesn't have enough funds available (for example, they've already withdrawn their balance), we'll pursue recovery from the organiser, but your refund may be delayed while we do — tell us at support@findyourdream.space if this happens and we'll help you pursue it.
6. Disruption, weather and events beyond anyone's control
- If the organiser cannot deliver the experience — whatever the reason, including weather or local restrictions — section 2 applies: full refund or an offered transfer.
- If the organiser delivers but you cannot get there — cancelled flights, illness, visa refusal, personal emergency — your tier applies. This is exactly what travel insurance exists for; for experiences abroad, don't book without it.
- If an experience is cut short for reasons within the organiser's control, the organiser must refund you proportionately for what wasn't delivered.
7. Changes to a booking
If the organiser makes a significant change before the start — different dates, different location, removal of a main advertised element — you can accept the change or cancel with a full refund. Minor adjustments (schedule details, a substitute instructor of equivalent standing where the listing wasn't built around a named person) are part of normal delivery.
If the listing was built around a named instructor or artist and that person is replaced, that is a significant change.
8. Packages
Where an experience is a package (typically accommodation plus activities sold together), the organiser owes you additional legal protections, including protection of your payments if their business fails. These rights come from package travel law and sit on top of this policy; the organiser is the package organiser and responsible for them.
