Louise Hurford
Yoga Teacher & Shiatsu Therapist
Louise is a yoga teacher and Shiatsu therapist inspired by teachers such as Thich Nhat Hanh, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Sarah Powers — it was during a stay at Plum Village that Thich Nhat Hanh gave her the name 'Harmony of the Heart'. With a background in contemporary dance, she qualified as a Shiatsu therapist in 2005, completed her yoga teacher training diploma at Yoga Vidya Gurukul in Nasik, India, in 2007, added pregnancy and women's yoga in 2009 and, in 2025, trained as a Menopause Yoga teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga. Her classes combine gentle, strengthening hatha yoga with flowing, breath-connected movement and deep rest through yoga nidra, with modifications so everyone can follow at their own pace.
