Hands-on practice Workshops Relaxed Creative Social

Get creative with clay and make something uniquely yours! Discover the joy of hand-building as you pinch, coil, shape and add your own personal touches to a collection of charming little posy vases or tapas bowls.

What you will do

This is a hand-building workshop: no wheel, just your hands, clay and simple tools. Kathleen shows you the pinch and coil techniques step by step, and you build and decorate your own small pieces — vases for a few stems of flowers, or little bowls for the table.

Who it is for

No experience needed, just a little creativity and enthusiasm. The workshop is relaxed and welcoming, and suits complete beginners as well as people who have worked with clay before.

Your finished pieces

The pieces need to be fired after the workshop, which can take 4–6 weeks. When they are ready, you can collect them from the Coil & Pinch studio in Tulbagh, or have them couriered to you at your own cost.
